Hey friends! I am so glad you are here with me.
If you didn’t know it already, pursuing a life of wellness is a passion for me, and nurturing other strong women along their own wellness journey lights a fire in my soul. We can do awesome things in our families, homes, cities and towns, when we strive to lift each other up and nurture the life inside each and every one of us.
So who am I?
I am the wife of an amateur triathlete, mom of 2 wildly active boys and lover of all things fitness…weight-training, running, and yoga especially. I am a happy girl when I can curl up with cup of hot tea and lose myself in book, but I am just as happy when I can be cheering on my loves, in soccer, swimming, running, triathlon, football, basketball…see, told you they are wildly active.
I am also a physical therapist by training, specializing in women’s health. I have spent much of my career working with women in their 20’s to their 80’s and all ages in between. Whether it be incontinence, pregnancy or post-partum concerns, digestive problems, back or pelvic pain; I love supporting women in the process of taking control of their own health and seeing them thrive.
As I began really working with women and addressing our unique needs, and I began to really learn more about how our food and nutrition impact our overall health and wellness, I realized how dramatically our traditional model of healthcare fails to provide what we need. Women are told that the changes in their bodies are just a normal part of aging. We spend all this time trying to fix a symptom and very little effort actually teaching our clients how to TAKE CARE of themselves. And do you know what happens when we TAKE CARE of ourselves? We are able to better care for and nurture our family, our friends, and our neighbors. We get back to living our lives and not sitting on the sidelines watching it go by. We dare to live!
My pursuit of health and wellness as a wife and mother means eating REAL FOOD, full of nutrients that my body needs. It means having FUN with my family and staying active. It means using essential oils to support my mind and body while limiting exposure to toxins. It is cultivating my FAITH; learning to be obedient to God and knowing that He has given me this body and charged me with taking care of it. I strive to use my body and my life to bring glory to God. And that is where Essential Wellness & Nutrition comes in. My heart is happy and my soul is alive when I am doing these things, but even more so when I can be a part of helping other women in their own passionate pursuit of wellness, for themselves and their family.
