“I love what I do!” How many of you can honestly say that? Do you dread going to work each day or do you gain energy from the work that you do? Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not sitting here thinking that there aren’t things I would never change about my work and some days are really hard. But for an overwhelming majority of days, I truly love what I do.  I love getting to come alongside women and guide them toward healthier lifestyle, teach them how amazing their bodies are, and help them to feel good again after having a baby or while going through menopause or especially after beating cancer. In the course of working with ladies in the physical therapy setting, I often get to touch on ways to use movement to decrease pain and improve strength. I teach ways to use nutrition to enhance the body’s healing powers rather than tearing it down from the inside.  It’s amazing to see these ladies take even just a few of the things learned, put them into practice and return to the next appointment with noticeable improvements in the complaints that brought them to see me in the first place.

Do you know what you eat and drink can directly affect the pain you feel? The alertness of your mind? Your mood? It does!! And when your body is going through marked changes like healing from pregnancy and childbirth, from cancer and the treatments used to get rid of it, or naturally transitioning into menopause, then your body needs all the nurturing support it can get.

WHAT IF every woman that went through pregnancy and childbirth had access to women’s health/pelvic floor physical therapy?  WHAT IF every woman that had to have a hysterectomy or any surgery on her belly and lady bits had access to women’s health/pelvic floor physical therapy?  WHAT IF every woman that went through chemotherapy or radiation after the diagnosis of breast cancer, uterine cancer, vulvar cancer, cervical cancer, anal cancer, or ovarian cancer had access to women’s health/pelvic floor physical therapy?  WHAT IF???

That is where the other part of my “job” comes in.  WHAT IF…I could reach you with information that could truly make your life better?  So that is what I am doing.  Dreaming big and going for it. Endeavoring to change the world for women and for their families, in the way I know best.  Not every person that needs to hear this information has access to it at a local hospital, but maybe you can read it here. Maybe you need guidance and accountability to make the necessary changes in your life, you’ll soon be able to get that here too.

Not everyone wakes up each day and says, “I love what I do.”  But when you find your purpose and follow your passion, then you can’t help but smile as you leave your mark!
